The 2D rendering context of a canvas element (https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/canvas.html#canvasrenderingcontext2d): canvas.getContext("2d"). The drawing is rasterized by the rendering backend of the browsing context; the bitmap is painted in the box of the canvas.
